Lessons Learned Over the Past 10 Years

We're excited to be celebrating the kick-off of our tenth year in business. It's not about the number of years, rather the wonderful experiences we've been able to create for our great clients.

When I reminisce, I could share highlights from top ten destinations (Tahiti, Rome, Barcelona, Aruba, Vancouver, Sydney, St. Thomas, Port Douglas, Kauai, or even Ireland). Or I could consider the impact we've had (savings of thousands to hundreds of thousands for our client's events, to saving valuable time or even adding protection clauses to their contracts). Perhaps the most reflective approach could come from lessons I learned:

10.  Technology is a necessity – embrace it or hire people who do
9.  Find staff who thrive under change and you can tackle any new project
8.  Taking risks pays off
7.  Surrounding yourself with good people makes your work days enjoyable
6.  Pick up the phone and call when you have controversial or bad news
5.  Connecting with passionate women brings tremendous results
4.  Contributing to the community takes a lot of work and time, but you always make new friends
3.  Having key partnerships is irreplaceable
2.  Challenging client requests can be rewarding when achieved
1.  Clients make wonderful friends!

I'm very proud of CEM's successes over the years, the relationships we've made and the attendees we've helped WOW during each event. Thank you to our fan club, supporters, clients, partners and suppliers who have set the stage for our foundation that will help lead us into the next ten years.
